The first official public* drafts of the Common Core standards are now available here. The standards are oriented to the end of high school, with grade-by-grade work still to come. Forty-eight states have committed to use the voluntary standards, and Senate Bill 1 means Kentucky is likely to be one of the first to put them into action.
On-line comments are invited on the way to the next draft, with math standards scheduled to be complete by the end of 2009 and English/Language Arts due next year.
